ScapeThat is an alias for a Dutch semi professional artist. Starting at a young age with drawing, mostly animals and portaits, a high level of feeling for detail was developed. Over the years art was pushed into the background.more and more. However, the past years painting became again a passion, with the current focus on landscapes.
Pencil or ink were used for years, with an occasional oil painting in between, which always was by order of a relative or acquaintance. Most pieces were detailed pencil drawings, mainly with birds or portraits of women as subject. Most of these are still in a private collection.
Currently the focus lies in the first place on painting landscapes, both in acrylic and oil, or a combination of the two. Besides this main activity, large oil paintings of classic cars will be the next challenge. Not hyper realistic, not abstract at all, but painted in a way that lines of the car, in combination with colors and the environment, harmonize on the canvas.
Being a favorite pastime, painting also attracts the interest of others. This has resulted in several paintings which were commisioned artwork. Creating art by order of others has its own challenges, which stimulates the creative process.
Feel free to contact ScapeThat if you like the style of painting, and have an idea of your own which you would like to have painted.
This can be a picture of a landscape, or a description of an idea which by then will be translated in a painting.
Regarding the paintings of classic cars, a painting of an Alfa Romeo Bertone GTV is to be finished soon, and will be presented on this site.
If you own a classic, and again, like the style of painting, feel free to get in touch using the form below.
